The COST invites to present proposals for actions that contribute to the scientific, technologic, economic, cultural and social development of Europe. The proposals that have a role of forerunner for other european programs and/or that involve researchers ideas in sterting phase of research are particulary appreciated. The COST reunites reserchers and experts in different countries that work on specific skill. Cost does not finance research as it, but supports activities of connection in ntework as meetings, conferences, scientific exchanges at short and actions at wide beam. Actually more than 200 scientific networks are receiving support (actions).
The development of stronger ties between european researchers is essential to create an european Space of research (SER). COST incentives in Europe new, innovative, interinterdisciplinary and of wide breath. COST activities are unrolled by grupos of research to the aim to reinforce the foundations in oorder to generate the scientific excellance in Europe. COST is structured by nine vaste sectors (biomedicine and biological molecolar sciences; chemistry and molecolar technological sciences;science of the earth system and environmental management; food and agriculture products; forests and products and services connetcted; people, society, culture and health; infomration and communication technologies; materials, physics and nanosciences; transport and urban development). The interested are invited to put their theme in one of the sector. however, the interdisciplinary proposals that are not clearly connected to only one sector are particulary appreciated and will be assess separately by the permanete evaluation organ of the multidisciplinary proposals.
Proposals could incude reserarchers form at least 5 countries of the COST. It is possible to foresee the concession of a financing support of about 100 000 EUR at year for a period of 4 years. Proposals will be assessed in two phases:
- Preliminar proposals (at maximum 1 500 words/3 pages), presented using the electronic predisposed model, could give a summary of the proposal and of the expected impact. . Prposals in contrast with the admissible criteria of the COST (for ex. including financing requests for research) will be excluded. Admissible proposals will be assessed by the pertinent sector committees. They who have presented selected preliminar proposals will be invited to submit a complerte proposal.
- Complete proposal will be object of a mutual evaluation. The decision will be take within six months by the limit data for submission and the actions could start within the next end of three months.
The limit data fot the submission of preliminar proprosals is the 27 march 2009. About 80 complete proposals will be requested for the final selection of abiout 30 new actions. The complete proposals will be requested within the 15 may 2009 to be presented within the 31 july 2009; decisions are expected for november 2009. The forseen data for the next presentation is the 25 september 2009. |
